Examples of the work we do:
Public Affairs

Created an integrated political action committee strategic
communications and recruitment plan for the American
Academy of Family Physicians, one of the nation’s
largest national medical organizations. The plan
included message development, recruitment and education
strategies.

Developed and implemented Missouri State Lobby Day for
the American Cancer Society-Heartland
Division, including
recruitment of volunteer advocates, creation of legislative
priorities and message development, training for lobby day
participants, and organization of lobby day activities.
Grassroots Advocacy
-
Developed and implemented a successful grassroots advocacy
program for the Kansas City Regional
Transit Alliance, including
database development and management, message development,
speaker’s bureau development and implementation, grassroots
recruitment, grasstops mobilization,
media
advocacy through successful placement of letters
to the editor and opinion editorials, and coalition development
and management. Our efforts increased the organization’s
grassroots advocacy network members from 500 to 5,000 and
we were successful in passing enabling legislation in Missouri,
in part, due to the work of the grassroots advocacy network
(www.kctransit.org).

Developed a comprehensive, integrated campaign to increase
awareness, public support and participation in the Medicare
prescription drug program.
Public Involvement

Provided Black and Veatch, an international engineering
firm based in Kansas City, Missouri, with governmental relations
and public relations expertise on the site clearing phase
for the Sprint Center, one of the largest development projects
in Kansas City’s history.

Responsible for community and public involvement planning
for Kansas City, Missouri Port Authority Riverfront Development.

Strategic Communications

Provided public relations services for various clients,
including placement of Letters to the Editor, Opinion Editorials,
Editorial Board Reviews, and in-depth interviews on talk
shows via radio and TV.

Assisted in development and implementation of a crisis
communication plan for the site clearing and construction
phase of the new Sprint Arena in Kansas City, Missouri.
Training Institute
- Provided crisis communication training at National
Kidney Foundation’s Annual Affiliate Network Meeting.
- Provided grassroots advocacy training to
Community
Association of Non-Profit Business Executives.
